Apple Issues Password Reset Prompt to Users: Here's Why
Apple is in the news for bringing features to their upcoming models. Amidst all the recent developments, many Apple users have reported that their Apple ID is getting logged out without any specific reason. It has been reported that this issue affects some Apple users who were first logged out of one or more devices and then prompted to change their Apple ID passwords. A large section of users were affected by this new bug. While Apple's system status did not acknowledge the issue, many users were forced to change their passwords to log back into their Apple accounts.
According to a report by media, some Apple users complained that they were suddenly logged out of their Apple ID on their Macs, iPhones, iPads and other Apple devices. When users tried to sign in again, they were prompted with an error message that prevented their access.
Users were left with no option but to reset their passwords. The bug affected other Apple services such as iCloud Drive, iMessage, FaceTime and the App Store. Once passwords are changed, app-specific passwords configured by iCloud will also be reset. Some users reported problems with the latest bug. Many of them took to microblogging platform X and posted their experiences. "I was in the middle of Facetime with @milesabovetech and my Apple account got locked, and I signed out of all my Apple products," one user posted. Another user posted a screenshot after logging out of his Apple account. He wrote, “Apple demanded that I enter my AppleID password, then it requested my phone passcode, then locked my account and demanded that I reset my AppleID password. Strange.”
While many tech platforms face authentication outages, this issue at Apple has affected a large number of Apple users across multiple product lines and services. In 2017, a similar lockout happened with the tech giant, which affected many at the time.
