Reflections from the Event
Milind Soman, the Founder of Pinkathon, expressed, "Seeing nearly 6,000 women gather at 5:30 AM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on International Women's Day is incredibly powerful. Delhi has always shown heart, and today we witnessed courage, consistency, and community come together. This edition truly reflected what Pinkathon stands for: inclusion, endurance, and a long-term commitment to health."
Health Awareness Initiatives
The event, held in partnership with Zydus Lifesciences, aimed to raise awareness about preventive healthcare through the Easiest Exam campaign, urging women to perform regular self-breast examinations. This initiative emphasizes the importance of transforming health awareness into consistent action.
Meha Patel, Vice Chairperson of Zydus Foundation, stated, "Health is the foundation of every family's well-being. With 1 in 8 women diagnosed with breast cancer, awareness and vigilance are essential. The energy at today's run shows how initiatives like Zydus Pinkathon and the Easiest Exam campaign are turning awareness into action."
A New Era for Delhi's Running Community
Over the years, more than 50,000 women have participated in previous editions of Pinkathon in Delhi. The turnout this year marks a renewed chapter for the city's running community, demonstrating that when women are given the opportunity, they redefine participation in sports.
Ankita Konwar, Founder of Invincible Women, remarked, "The diversity of participation was remarkable; young runners, seasoned athletes, mothers with babies, grandmothers, and visually impaired participants all pushed extraordinary limits. Events like Pinkathon empower women to progress in their fitness journeys."
Looking Ahead
Founded in 2012, Pinkathon continues to leverage running as a platform to enhance participation, visibility, and sustained focus on women's health across India. Following the Delhi event, the Zydus Pinkathon calendar will move to Pune on April 5, continuing the momentum of the 2025-26 season.
