Zimbabwe Cricket Reveals T20I Squad

Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has officially announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against India. This announcement comes with three alterations from the team that recently faced Bangladesh in Bulawayo.

The matches are scheduled to take place at Harare Sports Club on July 23, 25, and 26.

New Additions to the Squad

All-rounder Wessly Madhevere is making a return to the squad, while wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga receives his first call-up for a T20I. Fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri is also back after recovering from an injury that sidelined him during the recent T20I series against Bangladesh. Tanaka Chivanga, who stepped in for Nyamhuri, retains his position. The new additions replace Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, and Tashinga Musekiwa.

Team Performance Overview

Captain Sikandar Raza will lead the team as they aim to make a significant impact against the current ICC Men's T20 World Cup champions. Zimbabwe recently had a successful home series against Bangladesh, achieving a historic innings victory in a one-off Test and winning the ODI series 2-1 in Harare. However, Bangladesh managed to clinch the T20I series 2-1 in Bulawayo.

On the other hand, India, the reigning T20 World Cup champions, have faced challenges in the format, remaining winless in their last seven matches. They lost both T20Is against Ireland and suffered a 4-0 defeat in a five-match series against England. The Men in Blue are looking to regain their form as they prepare to face Zimbabwe starting July 23.
