Yuvraj Singh Calls for Dialogue Amid NEET Row

Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian cricket star, took to social media to advocate for peace and safety for children and citizens, emphasizing the need for dialogue in light of the ongoing protests regarding the NEET exam paper leak. In an Instagram story, he expressed, "Every child, student, woman, and man deserves the chance to learn peacefully, grow safely, and pursue their dreams. Your well-being is crucial for a brighter India. Let’s unite to foster communities filled with care, opportunity, and hope. Through dialogue, we can reach a peaceful resolution for the future of India."

CJP Protest and Parliament Deadlock

On July 20, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) organized a 'Sansad Chalo' protest in the capital, which resulted in police intervention. Opposition leaders condemned the police's actions, claiming that protestors faced 'lathi-charges' and tear gas.

The ongoing deadlock in Parliament persists as the opposition demands the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and insists on discussing the NEET-UG paper leak under specific rules. The government has expressed willingness to debate but insists that the opposition should not impose new conditions. Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have experienced multiple adjournments due to these demands.

Legal Action and Court Intervention

In response to the protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), the Delhi Police has filed 10 FIRs. Concurrently, the Delhi High Court has issued notices to both the Centre and the Delhi Police regarding three public interest litigations that allege excessive police force during the protests. The court has instructed authorities to preserve all relevant CCTV footage and electronic records related to the incident.
