YSR Congress Demands President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh Amid Law and Order Concerns
Call for Presidential Governance in Andhra Pradesh
The leader of the Youth Labor Congress Party (YSRCP), Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has called for the imposition of President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh, citing a complete breakdown of law and order under the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
Reddy accused the YSRCP leaders and their supporters of being targeted through false cases, 'illegal' arrests, and a 'systematic campaign of political persecution.'
On the social media platform 'X', he questioned, 'When there is no guarantee for the safety of political leaders and citizens, law and order is deteriorating, and the Constitution is being violated, why should President's Rule not be imposed?'
He pointed out that the recent daylight attack on Nagamallaeshwar Rao, a Dalit village council head in Mannava village of Guntur district, exemplifies the 'anarchy' in the state, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation as depicted in the incident's video.
Jagan further alleged that attacks on YSRCP workers are occurring for not adhering to the ruling TDP's directives. He raised concerns about whether citizens truly feel safe under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu's government.
Meanwhile, TJR Sudhakar Babu, the president of the YSRCP SC Cell, accused Naidu of disrespecting the Dalit community.
