YSR Congress Alleges Disruption of Hunger Strike Over DSC-2025 Scandal

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) accused the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of obstructing their ongoing hunger strike aimed at protesting the DSC-2025 paper leak and recruitment scandal. The party also claimed that the Andhra Pradesh government is attempting to suppress democratic protests. According to a statement from YSRCP, these hunger strikes were organized statewide to seek justice for DSC candidates and unemployed youth, following a call from party president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The party alleged that a TDP legislator and his supporters attacked a protest camp led by former MLA Malladi Vishnu in Vijayawada Central. YSRCP claimed that the tents of the protesters were torn down, and stones, eggs, and tomatoes were thrown at their leaders and workers. Furthermore, it was reported that female protesters were specifically targeted, and a supporter of the TDP legislator dumped toilet waste at the protest site. YSRCP also noted that the police did not intervene during the incident, remaining 'silent spectators' while the camp was vandalized.

The protesters are demanding a CBI investigation into the DSC-2025 recruitment scandal, the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh over allegations of paper leaks and irregularities, the payment of pending 'Vidya Deevena' and 'Vasathi Deevena' amounts, and the implementation of a monthly unemployment allowance of ₹3,000. YSRCP further claimed that similar disruptions were observed in various regions of Andhra Pradesh, including Yadiki, Kannegiri, Guntur, Macherla, Gurazala, Kandukur, Tadipatri, Ponnur, and Bapatla, where protest camps were reportedly dismantled, party leaders were placed under house arrest, and the hunger strike was obstructed.
