Youth Caught in Police Uniform Fraud at Lucknow Station

In a surprising incident at Lucknow's Charbagh station, two young individuals were apprehended while impersonating police officers. Dressed in uniforms, they sparked curiosity among onlookers, but their age raised suspicions among security personnel. Upon investigation, it was revealed that they had been victims of a fraudulent scheme, having paid large sums to individuals promising them positions in the police force. Both are recent graduates and were misled into believing they had been appointed as inspectors. The case is currently under investigation, with charges filed against them for wearing uniforms unlawfully.

Incident at Charbagh Station

Dressed in crisp police uniforms adorned with three stars, a young man and woman were seen confidently walking around Lucknow's Charbagh station. Their presence sparked conversations among onlookers about the new job opportunities for the youth. However, the situation took a turn when the station's security personnel noticed the duo, leading to a surprising revelation. At their age, most individuals are still pursuing their undergraduate degrees, making their status as inspectors highly questionable.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) team observed the pair, noting several discrepancies in their uniforms. After monitoring them for a while, they reported their suspicions to the GRP Circle Officer, Namita Singh. Upon questioning, the duo claimed they were summoned to join duty at the zoo near the DGP headquarters.

Further inquiries revealed that both individuals had fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme. They were misled into believing they had been appointed as inspectors. The young man, Ajay Prakash, hails from the Charwa police station area in Kaushambi and holds a B.Sc. degree, while his companion, Kalavati, also from Kaushambi, has completed her B.A. Both are 21 years old and graduated this year.

Ajay disclosed that they were approached by individuals in Kaushambi who promised them positions in the police force for a fee. He paid five lakh rupees, while Kalavati paid four lakh. They received no training, only being instructed to fill out a form for the police recruitment board. They were told they had been appointed as inspectors and were sent to Lucknow with uniforms, badges, belts, and stars. Their search for a rickshaw to Narhi led to their apprehension. Circle Officer Amita Singh confirmed that an investigation is underway, and both individuals have been charged with wearing uniforms fraudulently.
