Youth Arrested for Abducting Minor and Forcing Religious Conversion in Kushinagar

In Kushinagar, a young man has been apprehended for allegedly luring a Hindu minor girl, leading to her abduction and forced religious conversion, followed by sexual assault. This information was confirmed by a police official.
According to police sources, the victim's mother reported on August 4 at the Kasya police station that her 17-year-old daughter had been taken away by 19-year-old Shamsuddin Ansari.
The police registered a case regarding this incident at the Kasya station. Sources indicated that the police team successfully located the victim and arrested the accused, Shamsuddin, adding charges of rape and religious conversion to the existing case before sending him to jail.
Amit Kumar Sharma, the officer in charge of the Kasya police station, stated that during interrogation, the accused revealed he had taken the girl to Mumbai under false pretenses.
Sharma further explained that the accused confessed to converting the victim's religion and committing sexual assault. Additionally, he changed the victim's name to Rehana Khatoon and even obtained an Aadhaar card in that name.
