Young Woman Climbs Mobile Tower Over Relationship Issues in Madhya Pradesh
Incident in Tikamgarh District
Tikamgarh News: A shocking incident unfolded in Tikamgarh district, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday morning when a young woman climbed a mobile tower. This event took place in the village of Bairwar, located in the Jatara police jurisdiction. The woman claimed that her boyfriend had not spoken to her for the past four days and had turned off his phone. After a dramatic standoff lasting approximately four hours, the situation was resolved when authorities brought the boyfriend to the scene, prompting her to descend.
The incident began around 5 AM when villagers heard screams coming from the tower. Upon arrival, they discovered the young woman at the top of the structure, calling out her boyfriend's name loudly. A crowd of hundreds quickly gathered, as she attempted to reach out to someone on her mobile phone.
Boyfriend Upset Over Engagement
Details from family members and the boyfriend revealed the underlying cause of this dramatic episode. The woman had been in a relationship with a local man named Swatantra Yadav for the past four years. According to her uncle, her marriage had been arranged elsewhere for April 21, and preparations were underway at home.
Swatantra was reportedly upset about the news of his girlfriend's impending marriage to someone else. He had ceased communication with her for four days and switched off his mobile phone. Hurt by his indifference, the young woman decided to take drastic action by climbing the tower.
Resolution with Boyfriend's Arrival
Upon receiving the information, the Jatara police and the local tehsildar arrived at the scene with a team. The young woman made it clear that she would not come down until her boyfriend arrived. She threatened to jump if anyone attempted to force her down. The police quickly located Swatantra and brought him to the base of the tower. After seeing him and receiving assurances from the police, she safely descended.
Willingness to Marry
Once on the ground, Swatantra explained, 'I stopped talking to her because her marriage was arranged. However, if she wants to marry me, I am ready today.' Meanwhile, the police have taken both parties to the Jatara police station for questioning. Station Officer N.S. Thakur confirmed that the young woman was safely rescued. Initial investigations suggest the incident stemmed from a romantic relationship and fears of a broken engagement. Currently, both sides are being counseled, and legal actions are being prepared.
