A Shocking Marriage Revelation

Elders often advise that marriage should be approached with careful consideration, emphasizing the importance of knowing one's partner's background. While many individuals heed this advice, the extent to which they investigate can vary significantly. A recent incident from Madhya Pradesh highlights this issue. A young man is distraught after discovering that his in-laws had tricked him into marrying a transgender individual. In search of assistance, he has approached the police.

This incident took place in the village of Bhavkhedi in Shivpuri. A 23-year-old named Pankhi Jatav arrived at the SP office with complaints about his transgender wife. He informed the authorities that he had married a girl named Manisha, but on their wedding night, he learned that Manisha was not a girl but a transgender person. Shocked by this revelation, he called his father-in-law to express that he could not keep Manisha as his wife.

The following day, Manisha informed her elder brother Phulsingh and sister Saroj about the situation. They took her to a hospital for examination. Allegations suggest that medical tests confirmed Manisha's transgender status. Consequently, Pankhi sent Manisha back to her parental home. Nearly two years have passed since then, and Pankhi claims that Manisha is now harassing him again. Additionally, his in-laws are pressuring him to either take Manisha back or provide for her.

Pankhi has also alleged that his in-laws threatened to harm him physically. This prompted him to seek help at the SP office for his safety. The police were taken aback by Pankhi's story. However, he has been unable to provide evidence of Manisha's transgender status, leading the police to advise him to approach the family court. This recommendation comes as Manisha had previously filed a complaint against Pankhi regarding support and cohabitation.
