The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has declared the renaming of the Khirauni-Suchitganj municipality to 'Maa Jwala Devi' and the Bhadrasa municipality to 'Bharat Nagar'. This announcement was made during a public gathering in Bikaapur, following the inauguration and foundation-laying of 217 development projects worth ₹432 crores in Ayodhya.

Tribute to Late Minister Munna Singh Chauhan

Prior to the announcement, the Chief Minister unveiled a statue of the late Munna Singh Chauhan, a former minister. He highlighted Chauhan's journey, noting that despite coming from a humble background, he dedicated his life to the development of Uttar Pradesh and the welfare of farmers.

A Legacy of Service

Yogi Adityanath mentioned that Munna Singh Chauhan's legacy is carried on by his son, Dr. Amit Singh Chauhan, who is committed to realizing his father's dreams and fulfilling the vision of the 'double-engine' government.

Significance of the New Names

The demand to rename Khirauni-Suchitganj to Maa Jwala Devi was put forth by local MLA Amit Singh Chauhan, which has now been approved. The name 'Bharat Nagar' for Bhadrasa is a tribute to Lord Ram's younger brother, Bharat.

Remembering Bharat's Sacrifice

In his address, the Chief Minister recalled Bharat's sacrifices, mentioning that he spent 14 years near Bharat Kund, following Lord Ram's orders while the latter's sandals symbolically ruled Ayodhya. He emphasized that finding a brother like Bharat is exceedingly rare.

Criticism of the Opposition

During the event, Yogi Adityanath also criticized the Samajwadi Party, referring to recent behavior exhibited by its representatives in Bhadrasa, which he claimed reflects their true character.
