Yogi Adityanath Criticizes Opposition in Kushinagar Speech
Chief Minister's Strong Remarks Against Opposition
On Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a fierce critique of opposition parties, particularly targeting the Samajwadi Party, during an event in Kushinagar. He questioned the credibility of those who are now criticizing his government, asking what they accomplished during their time in power. This address took place after the inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony of 464 development projects worth ₹525 crores.
While condemning the opposition, the Chief Minister remarked that those who lack the ability to effect change are the ones who cast blame and raise questions. He referenced the previous Samajwadi Party administration, noting that during their tenure, communal tensions often escalated during festivals. He highlighted that celebrations like Durga Puja, Janmashtami, and Holi faced restrictions, and funds meant for temples were misappropriated. In contrast, he stated that current legislators have undertaken beautification projects for eight to ten temples in their constituencies.
Adityanath further criticized those who failed to provide ration to the poor and deprived youth of employment, questioning how they could think about Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura. He accused previous governments of allowing illegal encroachments on temples, whereas now, efforts are being made to enhance these sacred sites. He pointed out that funds that once went to graveyards are now being questioned by those who previously mismanaged them.
Discussing the improved law and order situation in the state, the Chief Minister asserted that Uttar Pradesh has not witnessed any riots recently. He emphasized that the government takes strict action against anyone attempting to disrupt festivals or celebrations. According to him, there have been no curfews or riots in the past nine years, indicating a significant improvement in the state's stability.
During the event in Kushinagar, the Chief Minister honored senior citizens and distributed certificates, checks, and approval letters to beneficiaries. He mentioned that the government has strengthened social security for education personnel, providing cash health benefits and accident insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh annually for basic and secondary teachers, education volunteers, and cooks.
On this occasion, he recognized two exceptionally senior individuals, 110-year-old Ram Vilas Bhagat and 104-year-old Ram Prasad Sahani, praising their lifelong dedication to ideology, values, and principles. The gathering also featured speeches from prominent leaders, including the state's prison minister Dara Singh Chauhan, former Union minister and MP Kunwar RPN Singh, actor and Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, and Kushinagar MP Vijay Dubey.
