Celebrating Nine Years of BJP Governance in Uttar Pradesh
On the occasion of the BJP-led government's nine-year anniversary in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attributed the state's transformation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extended his congratulations to the public. Speaking at the annual book release event commemorating this milestone, he raised concerns about the factors that contributed to the decline in law and order and the increase in youth migration during previous administrations.
Yogi emphasized that the changes witnessed in Uttar Pradesh over the past nine years are a result of Modi's guidance, the dedication of party workers, the efforts of elected representatives, and the support of the citizens. He questioned why, nine years ago, there was an identity crisis among the youth in the state, despite it being one of the most fertile regions. He pointed out the alarming rates of farmer suicides and the lack of safety for women and business owners, which forced many young people to leave the state.
Highlighting the current government's achievements, he noted that the overlap of Navratri and Ramadan this year has not led to any communal unrest or curfews, thanks to the effective security measures in place. He remarked that with the onset of Navratri and the ongoing Ramadan, there are no signs of disturbances. He stated, 'All festivals are being celebrated peacefully; there is no fear, no tension, no chaos, and no threat of curfews or riots.'
Additionally, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced plans for the state government to transform Uttar Pradesh into a $1 trillion economy by the fiscal year 2029-30. During the inauguration of the Jewar Airport on March 28, he mentioned that an invitation had been sent to Prime Minister Modi for the event. On the same occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), comparing the chaos of the past under their leadership to the current stability under the BJP. He accused SP leader Akhilesh Yadav of ruining the state and noted that it has been nine years since the SP was ousted from power, suggesting that they are now desperately trying to regain control.
