Condemnation of Online Harassment

On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath strongly criticized the online trolling directed at Akhilesh Yadav's daughter. He emphasized that regardless of political differences, no daughter should be subjected to derogatory or malicious public comments. During an event in Azamgarh, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹955 crores, he expressed his dismay upon hearing about the offensive remarks circulating on social media regarding Yadav's daughter.

Immediate Action Taken

Upon learning of the situation, Chief Minister Yogi instructed the police to file an FIR and take action against those responsible. He highlighted the importance of respecting women, stating that Indian society has traditionally viewed every daughter and sister with honor and care, and such values should be upheld in public life. This statement came just days after an FIR was filed against three individuals for sharing a fake and defamatory post targeting the former Chief Minister's daughter.

Police Investigation Initiated

The Kanpur Police Commissionerate's cyber cell registered the case after leaders from the Samajwadi Party approached them. They alleged that misleading and derogatory content was being spread with the intent to tarnish their image. According to the complaint, a photo of Akhilesh Yadav's daughter was shared on X alongside false claims and insulting comments. The complainant accused that the image had been manipulated and the allegations were entirely false, aimed at defaming her.

Call for Decorum in Political Discourse

In defending the police's actions, Yogi Adityanath also urged Akhilesh Yadav to advise his party workers and supporters to maintain decorum in public discussions. He stated that coarse language should not be used due to political disagreements, especially when it concerns women, the elderly, and political opponents.
