Yogi Adityanath Condemns Congress Leader's Remarks Against PM Modi
Yogi Adityanath's Strong Response to Congress Comments
On Friday, Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a prominent BJP figure, launched a fierce attack on Ajay Rai, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, criticizing his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Adityanath labeled Rai's comments as inappropriate, unparliamentary, and inexcusable, asserting that they reveal the political corruption within Congress.
In a post on X, Adityanath stated that the disrespectful and unacceptable remarks made by the Congress leader about the esteemed Prime Minister reflect the party's political depravity. He noted that the Congress has reached a peak of despair, frustration, and mental bankruptcy, and is no longer in a position to seek forgiveness from the citizens.
This statement came in response to a viral video where Rai allegedly used offensive language against the Prime Minister and the Superintendent of Police in Mahoba, Shashank Singh. The controversy erupted when Rai visited a student who had been kidnapped and held captive for 16 days, during which he suffered torture and sexual abuse before being rescued by the police. While interacting with local residents and party workers, Rai criticized both the central and Uttar Pradesh governments led by the BJP for failing to address public issues.
In the viral footage, Rai also targeted PM Modi over economic issues, questioning his insensitivity to domestic problems. He remarked, "While people are starving here, Modi is busy making reels and distributing chocolates abroad." Rai reiterated his previous allegations from the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, claiming attempts were made to politically influence him against Modi in Varanasi.
The BJP condemned Rai's comments, accusing Congress of lowering political standards. BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi stated that the Congress leadership has crossed all boundaries of political decorum, suggesting that the party is in a race to see who can use the most derogatory language against the Prime Minister.
Senior BJP leader Amit Malviya also criticized Rai, recalling that PM Modi had publicly wished him a speedy recovery when he was hospitalized earlier this month. Malviya pointed out that the same Ajay Rai is now seen using offensive language against Modi, highlighting the declining standards of Congress politics. These remarks have sparked a new political confrontation between the BJP and Congress ahead of the upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh.
