Yogi Adityanath's Strong Remarks on Opposition's Allegations

On Monday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the opposition for what he termed as double standards regarding allegations of mismanagement of donations for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He pointed out that those raising these concerns had previously opposed the temple's construction.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Adityanath stated that the Ayodhya issue is being highlighted by individuals who had previously taken action against Ram devotees during protests.

Accusations Against the Opposition

Without naming any specific party, Yogi claimed that the same individuals who had fired upon Ram devotees are now questioning the management of donations for the temple. He emphasized that these are the same people who resorted to lathi charges and gunfire against those chanting 'Jai Shri Ram'.

The Chief Minister alleged that those questioning the donation management had previously attempted to delay the temple's construction by creating legal hurdles. He remarked that while they talk about the theft of donations, they have not contributed a single penny towards the temple's construction. He asserted that the nation and the world are witnessing their hypocrisy.

Opposition Protests Outside Assembly

These statements came as members of the Samajwadi Party (SP) protested outside the Assembly on the first day of the session. They raised slogans concerning the alleged donation issues related to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, the NEET paper leak, electricity problems, and fertilizer shortages.

SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav criticized the government for calling a three-day session, accusing it of avoiding discussions on critical public issues.

Government's Response to Protests

Yadav told reporters that the government's actions in calling a three-day session are condemnable, as the state faces numerous issues that the government is evading. During the protests, SP legislators chanted slogans like 'donation thieves, step down' and accused the BJP government of failing to address public concerns.

In response to the opposition's allegations, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna stated that the SP is trying to raise issues without a solid agenda. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also accused the opposition of lacking relevant issues and a clear agenda.
