Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the Samajwadi Party and Congress of attempting to create unrest during the NEET protests by surrounding the Parliament session in Delhi and tarnishing the image of students. Speaking at a gathering in Gorakhpur, he claimed that while the opposition remained silent when Kashmiri Pandits were targeted and displaced during the Congress-led government, they now seek to create a negative narrative as the Narendra Modi government emphasizes the safety and protection of Hindus.

Disruption During Parliament Session

Adityanath pointed out the chaos caused by the workers of the Samajwadi Party and Congress during the Parliament session in Delhi, stating that they attempted to defame students by creating a tumultuous atmosphere. He noted that during the Congress regime, there was silence when Kashmiri Pandits faced persecution and displacement, but now, as the Modi government advocates for Hindu safety, these parties are trying to foster a negative environment. He accused them of engaging in protests, riots, arson, and other disruptive activities.

Attempts to Incite Unrest

The Chief Minister further asserted that efforts to incite unrest were not limited to Delhi but extended to Uttar Pradesh and other regions of the country. He mentioned that when their attempts to create chaos failed, they resorted to inciting farmers, particularly in Punjab and Haryana, misleading them into starting a farmers' movement.

Recent Protests by Congress Leaders

This incident unfolded following the detention of Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, by Delhi police on Tuesday evening. These leaders were leading a protest near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, demanding accountability in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case and calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
