YEIDA Unveils Affordable Housing Scheme and Entertainment Zone Near Noida Airport

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has approved a significant affordable housing scheme for economically weaker sections, alongside plans for an entertainment area featuring a golf course and gymkhana near the upcoming Noida International Airport. This initiative aims to provide 30,000 residential plots for families with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh, enhancing living conditions for workers. The first phase will release over 4,000 plots, while additional infrastructure, including police and fire stations, will support the growing community. Experts believe these developments will boost real estate in the region, establishing it as a key business and leisure hub.

New Housing Initiative by YEIDA

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has recently sanctioned a new affordable housing initiative aimed at the economically weaker sections (EWS) during its 85th board meeting. Additionally, plans for an entertainment zone have been approved, which will feature amenities like a golf course, gymkhana, and a Delhi Haat, all situated near the forthcoming Noida International Airport, according to officials.

This housing scheme will provide 30,000 residential plots, each measuring 30 square meters, specifically for EWS families earning less than Rs 3 lakh annually. The goal is to enable workers to reside closer to their workplaces.

In the initial phase, 4,268 plots will be made available in Sectors 17, 18, and 20. The meeting, led by YEIDA Chairman Alok Kumar, also greenlit the establishment of a new police station, two fire stations, and various recreational facilities. The fire stations will occupy a combined area of 7,485 square meters in Sector 18 and Sector 32.

These developments are designated as 'recreational green zones' in the 2041 Master Plan. YEIDA officials believe that these projects will position the region as a significant business and leisure destination, particularly around the airport.

Vimal Nadar, National Director and Head of Research at Colliers India, remarked that YEIDA's initiative is set to significantly enhance residential real estate prospects around the Noida International Airport, particularly along the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
