Yashasvi Jaiswal Remains with Mumbai for Upcoming Domestic Season

Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to remain with the Mumbai cricket team for the upcoming domestic season after initially seeking a transfer to Goa. The Mumbai Cricket Association has accepted his withdrawal of the No Objection Certificate. Jaiswal's commitment comes as he prepares for the second Test against England, where he aims to showcase his talent both for the national team and in domestic competitions. This decision highlights the common practice of player transfers in Indian domestic cricket, where many notable players have switched teams in the past.

Jaiswal's Decision to Stay with Mumbai

Earlier this year, Yashasvi Jaiswal's potential move from Mumbai to Goa sparked significant interest in the Indian domestic cricket scene. In April 2025, the talented batter had sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to join Goa for the upcoming season.

However, just a month later in May, Jaiswal reconsidered his decision and retracted his NOC application, expressing his desire to continue with Mumbai. The MCA has now officially accepted his withdrawal, confirming that Jaiswal will participate in the 2025–26 domestic season with Mumbai.

MCA Confirms Jaiswal's Commitment

In Indian domestic cricket, switching teams is a common occurrence. Notable players like Karun Nair, Wriddhiman Saha, Hanuma Vihari, and Robin Uthappa have made similar transitions. Recently, players from Mumbai, including Siddhesh Lad and Arjun Tendulkar, have also moved to Goa.

Jaiswal was on the brink of joining them, with Goa even offering him a captaincy role, making the prospect enticing. Ultimately, the young left-handed batsman decided to stay with the team where he began his career.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik confirmed this decision, stating:

“We have accepted Jaiswal’s withdrawal of NOC application, and he will be available for Mumbai during the forthcoming domestic season.”

Jaiswal Prepares for Upcoming Challenges

Currently, Yashasvi is competing in a five-match Test series against England. He made an impressive century in the first innings of the opening Test at Headingley, but unfortunately, he managed only 4 runs in the second innings, leading to India's loss by 5 wickets.

As the second Test approaches on July 2 at Edgbaston, Jaiswal is eager to perform well for both India and Mumbai in the domestic circuit.
