Rose Public School in Sulyali commemorated World Population Day by hosting an engaging essay writing competition. Students from grades IX to XII eagerly took part, sharing their insights on critical topics such as population growth, control measures, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
This year's theme for World Population Day 2026 was “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people: Today and for the Future.” In alignment with this theme, students articulated the significance of youth in societal development, the necessity of education, health, gender equality, and the importance of maintaining a balanced population in their essays.
During his motivating speech, Principal Mr. Sanjay Souguni highlighted the dangers of unchecked population growth, warning that it could severely impact natural resources, education, healthcare, and job opportunities. He encouraged students to raise awareness and take on the role of responsible citizens.
Vice Principal Mrs. Babita Souguni emphasized that World Population Day serves not only to address population issues but also to empower young individuals by fostering an environment conducive to their dreams and aspirations. She urged students to engage actively in awareness initiatives and promote positive societal messages.
The event wrapped up with recognition for all participants. The school administration commended the students for their exceptional contributions, presented awards for their hard work, and inspired them to remain involved in socially relevant and nationally significant activities. The entire teaching staff was present to support the occasion.
