On March 27, a woman traveling from Varanasi to Deoghar on the Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22500) experienced a severe allergic reaction after consuming her lunch. She reported that shortly after eating, her lips began to swell, and her two-year-old son developed diarrhea. Additionally, she expressed concerns about the unusual taste of the water provided on the train.

The woman took to the social media platform 'X' to share images of her swollen lips along with a doctor's prescription. She mentioned that after receiving timely medical attention at a hospital, both she and her child showed signs of improvement.

In response to the incident, IRCTC clarified that the food quality on that day was deemed satisfactory and noted that no other passengers had lodged complaints. However, they later reached out to the woman directly to gather more information and assured her that a thorough investigation would be conducted.
