In a tragic turn of events, a woman was murdered by her lover who broke into her home. The suspect, identified as Aslam Ansari, also known as Aslam Khan, fled the scene but was apprehended by police later in the evening during a confrontation.

Details of the Incident
The incident took place in Baldevpuri, located in the Katghar area. The victim, a mother of four, lived with her family. Her husband reported that she attended a wedding on Wednesday in a nearby village in Moradabad.
She had informed him that she would stay overnight due to the cold weather and return home the next morning. Around 7:30 PM on Wednesday, she called to ask about a charger, and shortly after, she called again to say she would not be coming home that night due to unsafe road conditions.
The following morning, the husband learned of his wife's murder from her brother.
Children's Account
Upon returning home, the husband found his children locked in a room. His daughter revealed that Aslam Khan had been visiting their home for the past year and had threatened to harm them if they opposed him. It was Aslam who arrived at their house that night.
He locked the children in a lower room and took the wife upstairs. The children heard their mother’s voice until about 9 PM, but they could not go upstairs due to the locked door. The next morning, they called out for their mother but received no response.
When they opened a window to shout for help, a neighbor came to their aid and opened the door. The children found their mother lying near the bed, unresponsive, while the suspect had vanished.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving news of the murder, the Circle Officer of Katghar, Ashish Pratap Singh, along with forensic teams, arrived at the crime scene. Initial investigations indicated that the woman had been strangled, a finding confirmed by the autopsy report.
In response, police quickly formed two teams to locate the suspect. Later that evening, they learned that he was attempting to escape. Following precise tracking, police pursued him near the Rafatpura flyover.
When the suspect noticed the police, he opened fire. In return, the police shot back, injuring him in the leg. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, and a firearm along with a motorcycle was seized from him.
