Will BJP Make History in West Bengal Elections? Leaders Express Optimism!
BJP Leaders Confident of Victory in West Bengal Assembly Elections
Kolkata: On Monday, leaders from the BJP in West Bengal expressed strong confidence about their prospects in the Assembly elections, claiming that voters are ready for a change.
Vote counting for the 293 Assembly seats commenced at 8 AM, with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) aiming for a fourth consecutive term while the BJP hopes to establish its first government in the state.
Initial trends indicate that the BJP is making significant gains, leading in numerous constituencies.
Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition, confidently stated that the BJP will take charge of the state government.
Adhikari is contesting for re-election in Nandigram and is challenging Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Bhabanipur.
"The BJP will form the government," he declared.
He suggested that Muslim voters have not overwhelmingly supported the TMC this time, asserting that Hindu votes have consolidated in favor of the BJP.
Samik Bhattacharya, the state BJP president, expressed his belief in a sweeping victory for the party.
"The people of West Bengal have already turned their backs on the Trinamool Congress government, and soon the majority of seats will reflect that in the contest between Mamata Banerjee and the electorate," Bhattacharya stated outside a counting center in Kolkata.
Dilip Ghosh, the BJP candidate for Kharagpur Sadar, remarked that the electorate has opted for change.
"The counting will mirror the polling process. The people have voted for a new government," he told reporters.
Arjun Singh, the BJP candidate from Noapara, claimed that this election will pave the way for transformation.
"We are fully confident that this change will occur and the BJP will emerge victorious," he asserted.
Subrata Thakur, the BJP candidate for Gaighata, predicted that the party would secure over 180 seats.
"With Prime Minister Narendra Modi guiding us from Delhi, we will establish a double-engine government. Previous elections faced strong-arm tactics, but this year the Election Commission ensured free and fair polling. The people have voted for 'poriborton'," he stated.
BJP leader Sishir Bajoria expressed optimism about a clean sweep in the elections.
"Have you heard anything from Didi (CM Mamata Banerjee)? They seem to have gone quiet," he remarked.
