Why is Hafiz Saeed Facing a Non-Bailable Warrant in India? The Shocking Details Unveiled!
Hafiz Saeed's Legal Troubles Intensify
Jammu: A special court under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a non-bailable warrant for Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, as part of the investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack.
This ruling was made by the Special Judge of the NIA Court on July 8, shortly after the NIA submitted a supplementary chargesheet against Saeed regarding the Pahalgam incident.
Saeed, who has been labeled a global terrorist by both India and the United States, is also known as the architect behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
The supplementary chargesheet presented to the special NIA court in Jammu implicates the 76-year-old Saeed both personally and in his capacity as the leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its affiliate, The Resistance Front (TRF). He faces charges under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
The court was informed by the NIA that Saeed, who resides in Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan, is a fugitive involved in the Pahalgam attack and has been intentionally avoiding arrest. The agency requested an open-ended non-bailable warrant to facilitate further legal actions and investigations.
"The arrest and custodial questioning of the accused (Saeed) are essential for a thorough and effective investigation. Therefore, a non-bailable warrant has been issued against him and sent to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), NIA Jammu, for execution as per the law," the court order stated.
On April 22 of the previous year, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists.
