Vijay's CBI Appearance Linked to Karur Stampede

New Delhi: The leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and renowned actor Vijay was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday for interrogation regarding the tragic stampede incident in Karur, officials reported.

The popular Tamil actor arrived at the CBI headquarters and was directed to the investigative team looking into the stampede that took place during a rally he spoke at on September 27 of the previous year in Karur, Tamil Nadu. This unfortunate event resulted in the deaths of 41 individuals and left over 60 others injured.

According to officials, the CBI has already interrogated multiple officials from the TVK as part of their investigation into the case.

After assessing Vijay's statements during the questioning, the agency will decide whether to file a chargesheet regarding the incident.

The CBI assumed control of the investigation from a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following directives from the Supreme Court and has been actively collecting evidence related to the case.
