Lack of Restroom Facilities at Semiliguda Block Office

Semiliguda: Visitors to the Semiliguda block office in Koraput are facing significant challenges due to the absence of functional toilets, leading many, including the elderly, to resort to open areas for relief, as reported by local residents on Tuesday.

Community members expressed frustration over having to wait for hours to access services such as pension applications or land inquiries without any restroom facilities, describing the experience as both humiliating and unsanitary. The area is also plagued by stagnant water and litter.

Resident Subhashree Hantal raised a critical question: “If the administration cannot maintain hygiene in its own premises, how can they expect cleanliness in the villages?”

In response to these concerns, block vice-chairman Sibaya Bangari acknowledged the issue and promised swift action, emphasizing the need to prioritize adequate restroom facilities, particularly for women and senior citizens.
