Sanjay Singh's Stance on the INDIA Bloc

New Delhi: On Wednesday, Sanjay Singh, a Member of Parliament from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced that his party will not participate in the upcoming meeting of the INDIA bloc, which is focused on addressing concerns related to the Election Commission.

Singh emphasized that AAP is not a member of the INDIA alliance and has previously supported the impeachment motion against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He stated that the party is actively addressing the perceived deficiencies of the Election Commission both in public forums and within Parliament.

The AAP officially distanced itself from the opposition INDIA bloc on July 18, 2025, with Singh noting that the coalition was primarily established for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

"Joining the meeting is out of the question. The Aam Aadmi Party is not part of the INDIA bloc," Singh asserted when asked about the meeting.

Leaders from the INDIA bloc are convening to devise a strategy for a collective protest regarding alleged discrepancies in the Special Intensive Revision process. Notable attendees include Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, as well as other prominent figures from various parties.

Singh raised concerns that approximately 27 lakh voters in West Bengal have been stripped of their voting rights and criticized the prolonged duration of tribunal hearings.

He claimed that 93% of the 1.26 lakh cases reviewed thus far were deemed eligible, suggesting that the entire process could extend over a span of 12 years.

Additionally, Singh questioned the removal of names from electoral rolls, alleging that 13.37 crore names have been deleted nationwide.

He also expressed concerns regarding modifications made to Form 6, which is utilized for adding names to electoral rolls, labeling these changes as "illegal" and "unconstitutional."

The AAP leader called for public support for an upcoming protest organized by the CJP concerning the Election Commission, stressing that electoral rights are a matter of national importance.
