Who Will Represent India at Ayatollah Khamenei's Burial? Key Officials Set to Attend

India's Representation at Khamenei's Burial Ceremonies


New Delhi: The Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, along with Bihar's Governor, Ata Hasnain, will represent India at the burial ceremonies for Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, next week, according to sources close to the situation.


Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for these ceremonies.


Scheduled from July 5 to 9, the ceremonies will take place in various locations.


Both Union Minister Margherita and Governor Hasnain are confirmed to attend, although there has been no official announcement yet.


Ayatollah Khamenei, who led Iran for three decades, passed away on February 28, coinciding with significant US and Israeli air strikes on Tehran.


The ceremonies will occur in Tehran and Qom on July 5, 6, and 7, with the final burial taking place in Mashhad on July 9.
