NDA Leader Makes Move to Establish Government in Manipur


Imphal: On Wednesday, Y Khemchand Singh, the leader of the NDA legislature party, formally requested the opportunity to establish a government in Manipur, as confirmed by the state BJP president, A Sharda Devi.


Manipur has been under President's rule since February of the previous year, creating a politically sensitive environment.


A delegation from the NDA, led by Singh, met with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Lok Bhavan to present their claim for forming a government that reflects the will of the people.


Among the attendees were two MLAs representing the Kuki-Zo majority areas of Churachandpur and Pherzawl.


Devi shared with reporters, "In the presence of our newly elected legislature party leader and BJP observer Tarun Chugh, we approached the governor to assert our claim for a popular government in the state."
