Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially reappointed Manmohan Samal as the president of its Odisha unit.


The announcement was made by Sanjay Jaiswal, the BJP's central election observer, during a gathering of senior party leaders at the state headquarters.


Samal was the only candidate to submit his nomination for the position, leading to his unopposed election, as noted by Jaiswal.


This marks Samal's second consecutive term and his fourth overall, with previous terms spanning from November 1999 to October 2000, October 2000 to May 2004, and March 2023 to July 2025.


Born on April 15, 1959, in the Bhadrak district, Samal is part of the Other Backward Classes (OBC), which represent over 50% of Odisha's population.
