CBI Takes Action Against NEET Paper Leak

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a professor from Pune, identified as the alleged mastermind behind the NEET paper leak scandal, according to officials on Friday.

Professor PV Kulkarni, originally from Latur and a specialist in Chemistry, has been involved in the formulation of the NEET question papers for several years.

His arrest took place at his home in Pune, as confirmed by the authorities.

With privileged access to the examination materials, he reportedly held exclusive coaching sessions at his residence.

In late April 2026, he allegedly coordinated with students, aided by another suspect, Manisha Waghmare, who was taken into custody by the CBI on May 14.

An insider revealed that during these coaching sessions, Kulkarni purportedly provided students with dictated questions, including answer choices.

The handwritten notes taken by the students closely mirrored the actual NEET-UG 2026 Examination questions, which were administered on May 3.
