What’s Next for CBSE? Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Reviews Class XII Evaluation Process
Review Meeting at CBSE Headquarters
New Delhi: On Thursday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan convened a meeting at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) headquarters to evaluate the ongoing Class XII assessment and the subsequent processes following the results.
This meeting is particularly significant as the CBSE is currently under scrutiny regarding its On Screen Marking System (OSM).
Held at the Board's Dwarka office, the meeting included key figures such as School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar, CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh, directors from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur, along with senior officials from the Education Ministry, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and public sector banks.
During the discussions, the focus was on reviewing the Class XII evaluation and post-result processes, as stated by the Board on X.
Topics included the development of a more student-friendly re-evaluation portal, enhancements to CBSE's digital infrastructure, and improvements in exam facilitation and monitoring systems.
Participants also emphasized the initiatives taken for student support and outlined future strategies for a more transparent, technology-driven service aimed at benefiting students.
Concerns regarding the OSM system intensified after numerous Class XII students reported discrepancies in their scores, claiming that the uploaded scanned copies of their answer sheets did not correspond with their handwriting.
