What’s Happening in Srinagar? Explosions Raise Questions on Ceasefire Status

Concerns Over Ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir
Srinagar: The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, expressed his worries regarding the status of a supposed ceasefire after loud explosions were reported throughout Srinagar on Saturday night.
In a message shared on X, previously known as Twitter, Abdullah remarked, "This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the heart of Srinagar just opened fire."
He further questioned in another tweet, "What just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions are being heard all over Srinagar!!!"
The origin of the explosions remains uncertain, and there has been no official statement from security forces or local authorities regarding the cause of the disturbances.
It is noteworthy that on the same day, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar mentioned that India and Pakistan had reached an agreement to halt firing and military operations.
