What to Expect from the INDIA Bloc's Upcoming Rally Against Vote Theft?
Congress Prepares for Major Rally in New Delhi
New Delhi: The Congress party has declared that the upcoming rally organized by the INDIA coalition on November 1 will convey a powerful message of unity against what they term 'vote theft'.
On Friday, Congress general secretaries Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and K C Venugopal convened with party officials from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana at the AICC headquarters to finalize plans for the event at Ramlila Maidan.
The Uttar Pradesh meeting included prominent figures such as AICC state in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam, former UPCC chief Ajay Rai, and senior leaders like Salman Khurshid and Imran Masood.
In the Haryana meeting, attendees included AICC in-charge Sanjay Dutt, PCC president Rao Narender Singh, and Congress general secretary Randeep Surjewala.
Venugopal shared on X, "Today, alongside Smt. @priyankagandhi ji, we met with AICC In-Charge Sh. Rajendra Pal Gautam ji and senior UP Congress leaders to strategize our mobilization for the November 1st INDIA Bloc Mega Rally against vote theft."
He added, "We also engaged with AICC In-charge Sh. Sanjay Dutt ji and senior leaders from Haryana for the same purpose."
This rally is expected to be the highlight of a significant 'Delhi Chalo March' arriving in the capital on November 1, with an anticipated turnout of at least one million participants, according to Venugopal.
He emphasized that their initiatives against the alleged vote theft orchestrated by Gyanesh and others, purportedly at the behest of Modi and Shah, will be historic.
The event aims to mobilize citizens nationwide, sending a clear message that they stand united in safeguarding democracy and ousting those responsible for vote theft.
The rally is also intended to increase pressure on the government regarding the vote theft allegations and to call for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar due to alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
On October 12, protests concerning the vote theft allegations escalated to the Supreme Court.
In a significant display of opposition strength, leaders, activists, and civil society members participated in a 'March for Democracy' along a heavily secured route, submitting a joint petition against the SIR.
Following a gathering at his residence on October 13, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue the fight against vote theft until a resolution is achieved.
