BJP leader and Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh announced that the Prime Minister is expected to arrive around 11 am, starting with a visit to the terminal and cargo areas.
Following this, Modi will address a public rally anticipated to draw around two lakh attendees.
Singh recalled the massive turnout during Modi's previous visit for the foundation stone ceremony, predicting an even larger crowd this time.
Jewar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Durgesh Singh estimated that over 1.5 lakh people would attend the event.
Modi will inaugurate the airport's first phase, open the cargo terminal, and lay the foundation for a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility, according to officials.
Significance of the Noida International Airport
This airport is touted as one of India's largest infrastructure projects, being developed in four phases at an estimated cost of Rs 29,560 crore, with initial approval granted by the Centre in 2018.
Phase 1, costing approximately Rs 11,282 crore, is designed to handle 1.2 crore passengers annually. The concessionaire has invested Rs 6,876 crore, while the state government has allocated Rs 4,406 crore for land acquisition.
The cargo terminal is set to manage 2.5 lakh metric tonnes initially, with the potential to expand to 18 lakh metric tonnes. The proposed 40-acre MRO facility aims to enhance domestic aircraft maintenance capabilities.
Once fully operational, this airport will position Uttar Pradesh as the first state in India to have five international airports. It is also envisioned as a multi-modal transport hub, integrating road, rail, and metro networks, thereby significantly improving connectivity across the National Capital Region and northern India.
Authorities anticipate that this project will stimulate economic growth, create jobs, boost exports and tourism, and enhance accessibility to air travel.
Robust Security Arrangements for the Inauguration
In light of the Prime Minister's visit and the expected crowd, extensive security measures have been implemented.
The area is under a five-layer security system, with approximately 5,000 police personnel deployed in coordination with the Special Protection Group.
Over 100 entry points equipped with 200 door-frame metal detectors have been established, along with rigorous baggage screening and identity verification. Separate enclosures for women have also been arranged.
Security protocols include anti-sabotage checks, bomb disposal squads, anti-mine teams, and sniffer dogs, with anti-drone systems activated and the area designated as a no-fly zone.
Quick Reaction Teams are stationed at strategic locations, and surveillance is conducted through CCTV cameras linked to an integrated command and control center. Intelligence agencies are coordinating in real-time.
Emergency services, including NDRF and SDRF teams, fire brigades, ambulances, and designated evacuation routes, have been organized. Traffic diversions and parking arrangements for thousands of vehicles have also been established to ensure smooth movement.
Officials stated that these extensive security and logistical preparations aim to guarantee a safe and seamless inauguration of the airport, which is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and economic development.
