The demonstration saw participation from state leaders of the Congress party and the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), commencing from Metro Cinema and making its way to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters located in South Mumbai.

This protest, named the Virat Garjana Morcha (Grand Roar March), was organized to call for the resignation or removal of the Chief Election Commissioner due to alleged discrepancies in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Participants were instructed to refrain from bringing party flags, with only the national tricolor permitted to be displayed.

This march followed closely on the heels of a 'Jail Bharo Andolan' conducted by the Cockroach Janta Party against the Chief Election Commissioner at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.
