Incident at Khan Global Coaching Institute

Patna: A coaching center run by Faisal Khan, widely recognized as 'Khan Sir', was reportedly attacked and vandalized in Patna, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday.

Authorities have apprehended three individuals, including the head of a competing coaching institute, in connection with this incident.

Initially, Khan alleged that gunfire occurred at the site, but police have yet to verify this claim. He later stated that a thorough investigation would clarify the events.

The vandalism took place at the Khan Global Coaching Institute located in the Kadamkuan police jurisdiction on Tuesday night, according to police reports.

Around 10:10 PM on Tuesday, law enforcement received reports of stone-pelting and property damage at the institute, prompting an immediate response and investigation, as noted by the City SP office.

Preliminary inquiries and CCTV analysis suggested that approximately 15 to 20 individuals linked to another coaching center were involved in the vandalism.

Khan addressed the media following the incident, stating, 'Some anti-social elements from a nearby coaching center caused significant damage, assaulted our guard, and even fired shots. Their main issue seems to be our ability to provide quality education at affordable rates.'

However, on Wednesday morning, when asked about the gunfire, Khan remarked, 'The police are conducting an investigation. We will understand the facts once the results are in. We are not looking to escalate any conflict regarding this matter.'

He also mentioned that security measures were enhanced overnight and appealed to the Bihar Chief Minister to ensure continued police presence, considering the large number of underprivileged students enrolled.

Town DSP-1 Rajesh Ranjan indicated that four individuals have been named as suspects, along with 15-20 unidentified persons.

Among the named suspects, three, including Roshan Anand, the director of the rival coaching center, have been arrested, with efforts ongoing to capture the remaining suspects.

After reviewing CCTV footage from the coaching center and surrounding areas, it remains unconfirmed whether any shots were fired.

This detail was not included in the formal complaint submitted by the coaching institute. The footage shows individuals throwing stones and damaging a signboard.

The officer noted that, at first glance, this incident appears to stem from rivalry between coaching institutes, but a comprehensive investigation is underway.

He added that the guard at the coaching center was injured during the assault and is currently receiving treatment at Patna Medical College Hospital.

According to police reports, an FIR was filed based on a complaint from Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, the manager of Khan Global Studies Coaching Institute.

Anand, while speaking to the press, claimed that there are attempts to tarnish his reputation and that of his coaching center.

Bihar's Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced that a policy would be developed to prevent such incidents in the future.

The government plans to create a policy within three months, consulting all relevant parties to ensure that such rivalries do not disrupt public order.
