Modi and Macron Address West Asia's Ongoing Conflict


New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, focusing on the current situation in West Asia. Both leaders underscored the urgent need to restore safety and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.


In a message shared on X regarding his discussion with Macron, Modi stated on Thursday, "We will persist in our close collaboration to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond."


The two leaders had previously communicated on March 5, expressing their mutual concerns about the escalating situation in West Asia and the importance of returning to dialogue and diplomatic efforts.


The ongoing conflict in West Asia has now extended for nearly 50 days.


Modi mentioned, "I received a call from my dear friend, President Emmanuel Macron. We discussed the situation in West Asia and concurred on the necessity to urgently restore safety and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz."


"We will continue our close cooperation to advance peace and stability in the region and beyond," Modi reiterated in his post.
