West Indies Clinch Victory with Shai Hope's Century

In a gripping fourth T20I match held in Hyderabad, West Indies emerged victorious against India by 24 runs, thanks to an outstanding century from Shai Hope and a remarkable five-wicket haul by Keemo Paul. This victory levels the series at 2-2, setting the stage for a decisive fifth match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on October 17. Hope's impressive innings of 102 not out off 50 balls included four boundaries and nine sixes, marking his fourth century during the tour, with two of them in the T20I format. Keemo Paul was instrumental with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 41 runs.

India's chase began with a quick fifty from Sanju Samson, who scored 56 runs off just 22 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes. However, the team struggled to keep up with the required run rate, despite a promising 70-run partnership between Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

India's Run Chase

India commenced their chase of 248 runs with a boundary from Sanju Samson on the very first ball, but Roston Chase quickly tightened the screws, conceding only three runs in his next over.

Samson's Explosive Performance

In the second over, Samson took charge against Shamar Joseph, hitting a four followed by two consecutive sixes. He dominated Roston Chase in the third over, scoring 25 runs, which included two fours and two sixes, bringing India's score to 50 runs in just three overs. Samson reached his fifty in a mere 19 balls, showcasing his aggressive batting style while Abhishek Sharma played a more reserved role at the other end.

However, Keemo Paul struck twice in the fifth over, dismissing Samson for 56 and Ishan Kishan for just six runs, leaving India at 67 for 2.

Middle-Order Struggles

Abhishek Sharma (10*) and captain Shreyas Iyer (8*) managed to take India to 84/2 by the end of the powerplay. They each hit a boundary off Keemo's bowling, but Iyer fell to Shamar Springer for a modest 16 runs, leaving India at 97/3.

India crossed the 100-run mark in the 9th over, with Tilak Verma and Abhishek Sharma still at the crease. Tilak's aggressive batting kept the momentum alive, but he fell for 43 runs, caught by Rovman Powell off Romario Shepherd's bowling, leaving India at 200/6.

West Indies Set a Challenging Target

Earlier in the match, West Indies captain Shai Hope played a pivotal role, scoring his fourth century of the tour and helping his team post a formidable total of 247/3. Hope's performance was crucial in keeping the series competitive.
