West Bengal's BJP Government to Unveil New Industrial Policy in Upcoming Budget

The BJP government in West Bengal is preparing to launch a new industrial policy during its first state budget on June 22. Introduction of New Industrial Policy

The first BJP government in West Bengal is set to introduce a new industrial policy during its inaugural state budget on June 22. This policy may include initiatives such as streamlined land acquisition, a single-window clearance system, and incentives for investors. While addressing an event in Nandigram, located in the Paschim Medinipur district, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari emphasized that this proposed policy is a crucial part of the government's efforts to enhance industrialization across the state and create job opportunities.


Focus on Employment and Welfare

Adhikari mentioned that the budget will encompass several public welfare decisions aimed at boosting employment, accelerating industrial growth, and improving the implementation of social welfare schemes. During the inauguration of a public welfare camp, he stated, 'Our industrial policy is on the way. We will introduce a new land acquisition plan, a single-window system, and incentives for industries.' He reiterated that the government's objective is to generate jobs through industrial development.


Support for Entrepreneurs

The Chief Minister also announced that the budget will reveal various significant welfare decisions. He indicated that the state government would assist entrepreneurs in obtaining loans through several central government schemes, including the PM Mudra Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, and the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). He assured that eligible beneficiaries would receive subsidized loans at lower interest rates, including options for collateral-free loans to promote small businesses and self-employment.


Goals for Self-Help Groups

Additionally, the Chief Minister set a target to create 1 million 'Lakhpati Didis' through self-help groups in the current financial year. Alongside promoting industrial activities, Adhikari mentioned that the government is reviewing welfare schemes and the database of beneficiaries to rectify any discrepancies.
