West Bengal Police Arrests Suspect Linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed in Spy Network Investigation
Arrest of Suspected Associate in Kolkata
Kolkata, August 3 - In a significant development, the Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal Police apprehended another associate of suspected terrorist Hamim Mandal from Howrah on Monday, as part of an investigation into an alleged espionage network. A senior official confirmed the arrest.
The individual has been identified as Aditya Singh, also known as Raj or Raju, who was captured based on information obtained during interrogations of Hamim Mandal and his alleged accomplice, Arpita Sarkar. The arrest took place on Belilius Road.
Without disclosing further details, the STF official stated, “This arrest was made based on precise clues uncovered during the investigation. Our focus now shifts to identifying other individuals connected to this alleged network.” Investigators suspect that Aditya came into contact with Mandal through an online gaming platform and subsequently became involved in this purported conspiracy. The STF officer added, “He is suspected of gathering information related to Urban Development Minister Umesh Rai and his son, which he allegedly shared with the accused.”
