West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has called for unity among citizens alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemning divisive forces in society. His statements reflect a commitment to counter social evils and promote a cohesive national identity.

Call for Unity and Nationalism

Kolkata - On Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari urged citizens to stand united with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He launched a strong critique against the 'Cockroach People’s Party' (CJP), labeling them as 'intellectual Naxals' and part of a 'fragmentation gang', asserting that such divisive forces and social evils must not be allowed to thrive in the country.

While addressing an event in West Bengal, Adhikari accused the previous government of lacking a sense of nationalism and attempting to turn the state into a 'Greater Bangladesh' through appeasement politics. He claimed that the former Trinamool Congress (TMC) government sought to erase the state's culture and heritage.

He further alleged that this mindset led to the creation of a separate anthem and flag for the state, as well as the adoption of Bangladesh's 'Joy Bangla' slogan. According to him, 34 years of communist rule followed by 15 years of TMC governance weakened the cultural roots of the people.

In reference to another event in Ramnagar, the Chief Minister emphasized the need to foster nationalism in educational institutions through regular debates, quizzes, and oratory competitions. He compared social evils to cockroaches and bedbugs, stating that when they attempt to spread like a pandemic, it becomes necessary to take stringent measures.

Adhikari also accused the former TMC government of trying to block admissions to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in educational institutions, instead promoting the 'Jai Hind Vahini'. He noted that joining the NCC helps youth get selected as 'Agniveers' in the armed forces. Additionally, he criticized the glorification of those responsible for removing Tata Motors from Singur in school history books. The Chief Minister confirmed that changes in the curriculum will be evident in the upcoming academic session, with a complete implementation of the National Education Policy in the state.
