Countdown to West Bengal Election Results

The moment for the West Bengal assembly election results is approaching. On Monday, the counting of votes for the state's 293 constituencies (excluding Falta) will take place, and the election commission is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process. On Saturday, the commission released an official list of 432 counting observers.

Enhanced Security in North 24 Parganas

This time, the election commission is focusing particularly on the North 24 Parganas district. A total of 49 counting observers have been deployed for the 33 seats here, making it the highest in the state. Following this, South 24 Parganas will have 45 observers assigned for its 31 seats. However, due to the decision for re-polling in the Falta constituency, counting will not occur there at this time.

Observer Deployment in Smaller Districts

While large districts have seen a significant number of observers, smaller districts like Alipurduar have the least presence, with only 6 observers assigned for its 5 seats. In the capital city of Kolkata, 12 observers will oversee the counting for 11 seats.

Backup Observers for Smooth Counting

The election commission has made special arrangements for areas with multiple counting rooms. In such locations, 165 additional counting observers have been appointed to assist the main observers, ensuring that the counting process proceeds without any interruptions.

Strict Security Measures in Place

To maintain law and order outside the counting centers, 77 police observers have been assigned. The commission has issued strict instructions that these police observers will only monitor the outer premises and are not permitted to enter the counting rooms under any circumstances.
