Weather Conditions Shift in Delhi and Northern States

The weather in Delhi and various northern states is undergoing another change. According to the latest forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the region will experience a series of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the next few days due to two active Western Disturbances. The IMD has predicted prolonged periods of rain, thunderstorms, and hail across large parts of the country. These weather patterns are being influenced by the current Western Disturbances affecting northwestern India. The department also indicated that this unusual rainy weather is expected to persist throughout the week, with cloudy skies anticipated in Delhi until Monday, April 6.

Gradual Temperature Increase Expected

The IMD forecasts a gradual rise in temperatures by approximately 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next three days. The department noted that light to moderate rain could occur in the capital, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, with similar weather conditions likely to return around April 3 and 4. According to IMD data, there was a slight decrease of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures over the past 24 hours, while minimum temperatures remained relatively stable. Although no extreme weather is anticipated, a mix of cooler temperatures, rising heat, and intermittent rain will continue to alter the weather conditions in the capital over the coming days.

Rain and Thunderstorms Anticipated in Northern India

The latest forecast from the IMD indicates the possibility of scattered rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, and western Rajasthan, with winds expected to reach speeds of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. Similar weather conditions may also be observed in eastern Rajasthan on April 1. A new Western Disturbance is expected to further deteriorate weather conditions by the end of this week, with rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds affecting Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand between April 3 and 6.

Rain Forecast for West Bengal and Sikkim Until April 2

The weather department has also indicated that active weather is expected in the eastern and northeastern regions of the country. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder, is likely in West Bengal and Sikkim until April 2. Additionally, the IMD has issued warnings for severe thunderstorms and lightning in central India until April 6, with the possibility of hail in some areas by April 2.
