Weather Warnings Issued by IMD
New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released contrasting weather warnings for various regions of the country. While the mercury is expected to rise sharply in central and northwestern India, northeastern states are bracing for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Over the next 4 to 5 days, maximum temperatures in several states could increase by 3 to 6°C.
High Alert for Heatwave Starting April 16
The weather department has expressed concern for Madhya Pradesh and other central regions, predicting a strong likelihood of heatwaves beginning April 16. Experts believe that temperatures could exceed 45°C this April, breaking previous records.
With the complete dissipation of western disturbances, only hot and dry winds will affect the plains. Gradual temperature increases of 3 to 5°C are expected in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh until April 15.
Weather Conditions in Delhi-NCR and UP-Bihar
Today, April 13, the weather in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar is expected to be mostly clear. However, daytime temperatures will range between 37°C and 39°C, leading to intense heat.
On April 14, strong surface winds may occur in Delhi and western UP. The impact of the heatwave is anticipated in these areas after April 15.

While much of the country is experiencing heat, Sikkim is expected to see thunderstorms and heavy rainfall today.
Northeast: Rain is forecasted in Arunachal Pradesh on April 14, 15, and 18, and in Assam and Meghalaya on April 17-18.
Hilly Regions: Light rain and thunderstorms are also likely in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh until April 18.
Southern India: Light rain with thunder is possible in Kerala, Mahe, and the interior parts of Karnataka on April 15-16.

Coastal states like Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will experience high humidity over the next seven days. Doctors and experts advise avoiding outdoor activities during peak hours (12 PM to 4 PM) and ensuring adequate hydration.
