The voting process for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections commenced at 7 AM on Thursday, under strict security measures. Enthusiasm among voters is palpable across the state's 75,064 polling stations, with long queues forming outside these centers. This election is not just a contest between traditional Dravidian rivals but also a test for a new political emergence in the state. On the other hand, the AIADMK is working to regain power alongside its allies, the BJP, AMMK, and PMK. The Tamilaga Vetrik Kazhagam (TVK), led by actor Vijay, aims to break the decades-long tradition of alternating governance between the DMK and AIADMK and establish its own government. Tamil Nadu has a voter base of 57.3 million, who will cast their votes at 75,064 polling stations for 4,023 candidates.
