Putin also visited Raj Ghat, where he paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

Putin's Agenda for the Day

On Friday morning, Putin is expected to receive a ceremonial welcome and visit Raj Ghat before heading to Hyderabad House for the India-Russia summit. His day will primarily involve discussions with Modi and senior officials, followed by a working lunch and participation in the Russia-India Business Forum. Later in the evening, President Droupadi Murmu will host a state banquet before Putin departs for Moscow.

The discussions will focus on signing the India-Russia 2030 Strategic Economic Roadmap, aimed at enhancing cooperation in defense, energy, trade, infrastructure, and minerals. Key defense deals remain a priority, with India emphasizing the expedited delivery of the S-400 system and addressing delays in projects like the Sukhoi upgrades, while also expressing interest in Russian Su-57 fighter jets.

Arrival and Dinner with PM Modi

Putin arrived at Palam Air Force Station in Delhi on Thursday evening, where he was welcomed by PM Modi. The two leaders were seen embracing and shaking hands before departing in the same vehicle. Later, Putin dined with Modi at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg.

PM Modi shared on X, "It is a pleasure to welcome my friend, President Putin, to India. I look forward to our discussions this evening and tomorrow. The India-Russia friendship has stood the test of time, benefiting our people immensely."

Additionally, Modi presented the 73-year-old leader with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita in Russian, stating, "I gifted President Putin a copy of the Gita in Russian. The teachings of the Gita inspire millions around the world."
