After receiving the award and the Orange Cap, he emphasized that it was not his innings but rather Devdutt Padikkal's performance that made the crucial difference. Kohli mentioned that the team aimed for a score around 230, but the bowlers executed their plans excellently.

Praising Padikkal, Kohli stated,

“Devdutt has done this twice this season. Honestly, his innings made a significant impact. I just wanted to anchor one end so he could play freely. I advised him to watch the ball and hit it if it was boundary-worthy. Just keep playing with that mantra. Building a partnership with him is genuinely easy. We aimed to keep the pressure on the bowlers. Our partnership was a game-changer.”
