Violent Incident Over Payment for Bhagwat Katha in Unnao

A disturbing incident has emerged from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, where an individual involved in conducting Bhagwat Katha was assaulted. The victim reported that a fee of ₹30,000 was agreed upon for the event, but when he requested the payment, he was brutally beaten and verbally abused by the accused.
Details of the Assault
The victim, identified as Avadhesh Chand Lodhi from Kunjpur, approached the Soharamau police station at around 12:10 AM to file a complaint regarding the assault. He explained that he was assaulted by his acquaintances, Anup Dwivedi and Manish Pandey, after he demanded the payment for his services. Both accused reside in Rasoolpur village.
Payment Dispute and Assault
Avadhesh revealed that he had conducted the Bhagwat Katha from March 30 to April 6 at the residence of Rinku Singh in Rasoolpur, as per the request of Anup and Manish, who had promised to handle the payment. However, upon completion of the Katha, when Avadhesh sought the agreed amount, the two men reacted aggressively. They forcibly took him in their vehicle to various locations in Lucknow, where they continued to verbally abuse and physically assault him, with two unidentified individuals also participating in the attack.
Police Action
Following the victim's complaint, the police registered a case at the Soharamau police station based on his statement. The accused, Anup Dwivedi and his accomplices, have been apprehended, and further legal proceedings are underway.
