Clash Between BJP and Congress in Patna

On Friday, a confrontation occurred in Patna, Bihar, between members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. This altercation was sparked by alleged offensive comments made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his deceased mother during a rally organized by the INDIA bloc in Darbhanga. The situation escalated as BJP supporters protested outside the Congress office, resulting in stones being thrown.

Nitin Nabin, a Bihar Minister and BJP leader, expressed that the public would respond strongly to Congress's actions. He stated, "Every son of Bihar will give a befitting reply to Congress for insulting a mother. We will take revenge for this."

Congress member Ashutosh criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alleging that the clash was instigated by the government. He remarked, "A befitting reply will be given. This is happening with the government’s involvement. Nitish Kumar is doing wrong." Earlier, police in Darbhanga apprehended an individual accused of verbally abusing PM Modi. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Chaudhary confirmed that a case has been filed and actions will be taken against those involved.

SP City Ashok Kumar Chaudhary stated, "A case has been registered, and an accused arrested. His name is being verified. The person is identifying himself as Raja… Action will be taken against those found involved." This incident follows a video circulating online that allegedly shows the accused using derogatory language towards PM Modi during the INDIA bloc event. Amid this political controversy, BJP leaders have criticized the Opposition's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' for its inappropriate language. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned the remarks, asserting that they insulted 1.4 billion Indians.

"He (PM Modi) is the world’s most popular leader now. This undignified language from the INDIA bloc platform is an insult to 140 crore Indians. The people of Bihar will give them a befitting reply. No civilized society can accept such language. Congress and RJD leaders should apologize for this," Adityanath stated to reporters. Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav also expressed disapproval of Congress and RJD.

In a post on X, CM Mohan Yadav demanded an apology, emphasizing that the public would not tolerate such statements. "I strongly condemn in the harshest words the indecent language used for the late revered mother of the successful Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in the so-called Voter Adhikar Yatra of the Congress. This abusive language cannot be the language of this country, nor can it be the language of Bihar. Neither Bihar will tolerate such statements, nor will the country tolerate them. Congress and RJD should immediately apologize," the Chief Minister wrote. In response, the Opposition party accused the BJP of diverting attention from more pressing issues.
